Bangkok – Antiques

It was our last full day in Bangkok, so we started the morning by catching the sky train to Phloen Chit. We read there were some antique stores and we wanted to see what they were selling. The department store we visited was Gaysorn, however they didn’t have any antique shops so we caught a taxi to the River City Shopping Centre where we had visited on the weekend before. There are many stores selling original antique’s, however we walked around and looked at many pieces, but they are all too expensive.

We walked back along the street to another shopping area that was selling Antiques, but most of the stores were closed. We caught a Tuk Tuk back to Siam Paragon, but the driver kept telling us that Paragon didn’t open until 4pm. We knew that he just wanted to take us somewhere else, but we insisted that he take us to Paragon.

We ate lunch at Moss Burger and we enjoyed a cake at Lenotre who have the most magnificent French cakes.

We spent the afternoon picking up the last few things we wanted at MBK, even though we know we will be back again tomorrow. It’s amazing that no matter how many times we go there, we still find something new every time.

We headed back to the hotel to change and recharge, and then back out again for the evening. We made our way down through Siam Square and to the Centara Grand Hotel, where Allira had stayed when she was here. We had a cocktail at the Red Sky bar on the 55th floor and admired the view over Bangkok. After that we hurried through the rain to Paragon and had dinner at Amici Italian restaurant, Pasta and Pizza, very Thai!!

We made our way back to the hotel via the Sky Train market and stopped in for a Thai massage, the best way to end a day in Bangkok!
