Chedi and Manathai

We don’t usually travel to Thailand in the high season, but this year was an exception. We picked the Chedi hotel because of its design, high recommendation and location and the hotel didn’t disappoint us.

The rooms are spacious and have all the mod cons that you would expect from a 5 star hotel. Each of the rooms comes equipped with its own Nespresso machine, which is nice to wake up to a decent quality coffee while away. The cost of the hotel isn’t cheap for a Thai standard, the room cost us THB16,950 which is just under $550 for two nights. The only complaint about this, is the loud frogs each night, and I mean loud.

We moved to another pre-arranged hotel called the Manathai, this is a smaller boutique hotel, that consists of only 29 rooms. The hotel is a traditional Thai style hotel, with high ceilings and timber floors.

We arranged a junior suite and I was looking forward to our stay, as we heard many great things about this hotel. The rooms are quite small and I wouldn’t consider our room a suite, just a standard but smaller room than the average for Asia. The pool is somewhat small, but we were the only people sitting beside it, however there is very little privacy around the pool area.
